Starting from an early age Rory would try and keep the peace and help her mother; any time Rory would misbehave at her grandma's house her grandma would chastise Rory's mom telling her that this was what happened when you had a child with a delinquent. Not liking how her mom would cry once they returned home, or hearing how her grandma would talk about her dad Rory tried to be as perfect as possible. This Translated later in life. At 18 Rory moved in with her high school boyfriend to help take some burden off her mom. 

But underneath it all Rory was on autopilot. She was bored with her life and wanted some sort of adventure, abstaining to not disappoint her mom. Only after moving into her dad's old house did she start to make choices just for herself. Using her new location to allow herself to change into the person she was keeping buried inside of herself.     

HISTORY

Rory’s mother, Alison Branch, met Roy Turner while on a road trip after her senior year in high school. The older man flirted with the teen, giving her his number to call him when they made it to their hotel. Alison spent the rest of the trip talking to Roy and as they drove back through town on their way home decided to stay there with him. Two years later they had Rory.
The small family of three lived together for four years before Rory and her mom left and returned to live with Alison’s mother again. The reason for leaving was never discussed, and all contact was cut with Roy. For most of Rory’s life, she was raised by a single mother with help from her grandma.

Rory went straight to work after high school, not wanting to go to college when she had no idea what she wanted to do with life. She bounced around from dead-end job to dead-end job. Nothing held her interest for too long until she went and got her Massage Therapist License at 20.

She was beyond shocked when she got the call that her father had had a heart attack and died. She was asked to return to her home town to sign some papers and receive her inheritance: the small home she spent her first few years of life in.

Originally planning to clean the house out and sell it, Rory only took a few weeks off of work. She was completely shocked by how barren the house was, with few things to box up and mostly cobwebs to clean. The more she cleaned the slower she got, realizing that she hadn’t known her father and that now she never would. This prompted her to change her life.

After about a week in town, she noticed the restaurant was looking for a waitress. The owner gave her the job and on the way back to her new home she quit her old job and called her boyfriend to break up with him, ending the 5-year relationship. For the first time in her life, she felt like a weight had been lifted off her chest and she could finally truly be herself.
